IPAM covers IP addresses, prefixes, VLANs, and VRFs; DCIM covers physical infrastructure: racks, devices, cables, and power feeds. NetBox links both so a device record also shows its IP assignments.
Can NetBox serve as the source of truth for network automation tools like Ansible or Terraform?
Yes. NetBox exposes a full REST and GraphQL API that Ansible, Terraform, and similar tools query directly to pull authoritative inventory and IP data.
